Commissions
Commissioning a tapestry is a creative process that gives great satisfaction to both artist and client. It is a journey which not only responses to the location and brief, but also to character and aspirations.
Commissioning normally follows a three-stage process:
Stage 1 - An initial discussion to establish what is required and gather enough information to prepare preliminary sketch ideas for further discussion.
Stage 2 - Further development of the artwork through to finalised images, which are presented to the client for approval.
Stage 3 - The weaving of the commissioned tapestry.
In all instances the aim of the commission is to make something special, which will enhance the environment where the tapestry is to hang as well as ensuring that each piece maintains the distinct handwriting of the artist.
